Nato a Jesi (AN) nel 1987, ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria “Leonardo da Vinci” – Energetica Elettrica e Termica presso l’Università di Pisa, discutendo la tesi Sustainable design of ground-source heat pump systems: optimization of operative life performances.
Dal 2024 è Professore Associato in Fisica Tecnica Industriale: le sue attività principali riguardano la progettazione e la gestione ottimizzata degli impianti per la climatizzazione invernale ed estiva degli edifice, lo di sviluppo di modelli numerici per la simulazione e la valutazione delle prestazioni energetiche dei sistemi edificio-impianto; metodologie per la diagnosi energetica; buone pratiche di progettazione e gestione dei sistemi integrati edificio-impianto, modellazione dello scambio termico nel terreno. È autore di 44 articoli indicizzati su banche dati internazionali. È socio di AiCARR, FTI, UIT e dell’American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Dal 2011 ha partecipato a 13 progetti di ricerca coordinati da ENEA riguardo la diagnosi energetica negli edifici e i sistemi di climatizzazione integrati con pompe di calore.
Nel triennio 2015–2017 è stato membro del Consiglio Direttivo dell’Unione Geotermica Italiana (UGI) e Segretario Esecutivo. È membro dell’Heat Experts Committee dell’International Geothermal Association (IGA) e del gruppo di lavoro IGA–UNECE (International Geothermal Association – United Nations Economic Commission for Europe), per la definizione delle specifiche UNFC-2009 applicate all’energia geotermica (comprese le pompe di calore). È docente e relatore in numerosi corsi di formazione su diagnosi e certificazione energetica degli edifici, e in seminari sull’energia geotermica. Docente da più di 10 anni collabora con diversi ordini professionali (Ingegneri, Architetti, Geometri e Periti Industriali) per l'aggiornamento continuo sulla normativa e le buone pratiche termotecniche negli edifici. E' inoltre Technical Advisor per studi di fattibilità e analisi costi-benefici per istituzioni pubbliche e partecipate, tra cui World Bank Group, Anima Confindustria, CESI.
Attualmente è titolare del corso di Termoenergetica dell’Edificio (Laurea in Ingegneria dell’Energia), codocente di Trasmisisone del calore e Termofluidodinamica (Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Energetica), membro della commissione di esame del modulo Risparmio Energetico in Edilizia (Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Energetica) e docente per il Master su Comunità EneRgetiche Sostenibili (CERS) – sviluppato nell'ambito della UNESCO Chair on “Sustainable Energy Communities” dell'Università di Pisa.
